HOUSE
OF
GAMES
BERLIN

With the House of Games, we are building something special in Berlin: a location for companies, developers and startups from the games scene. Already today, the games industry is an important economic factor for Berlin – with around 250 million euro annual revenue and more than 3,000 employees. I am certain that the House of Games Berlin will become a home for established companies, developers and founders from Germany, as well as from all over the world. In this central location, everything comes together: history, modern infrastructure, creativity. It is the perfect mixture for innovation, exchange and development.

The ideal location for the House of Games Berlin has been found. Here on site, we have the perfect foundation for our vision: to create both an inspiring environment for the gaming companies moving in and a strong local community. Its central location also allows us, as operators, to develop an innovation ecosystem in East Berlin and, in collaboration with Berlin's future-oriented districts, across the entire city. Drawing on our experience as site operators of innovation hubs—such as the Technology Park Adlershof—we will design spaces that give companies and talents exactly what they need: suitable infrastructure, strong networks, and opportunities for collaboration with science and tech partners.

With the House of Games, Berlin becomes the first point of contact for the games industry in Germany. The games industry, next to fin tech, green tech and health tech, has been an important accelerator for innovation, digitalization and economic growth in Berlin. Therefore, it is the declared goal of our economic policy, to further extend this dynamic sector in our city.

During last year alone, we provided over six million euro of state funding for the games industry, as well as for million euro for the visual effects sector. We want to keep up this level in the upcoming two-year budget plan. We also plead for more games funding on a national level. Our message to games companies, studios, startups and developers is clear: We see you, and we want you in Berlin! With the House of Games, you will now get a real home in Berlin, supporting networking, funding and visibility. This project is another step on our way to become the number one location for innovation in Europe.

The House of Games Berlin is a groundbreaking project for the German games industry. As a large international company, Ubisoft values a diverse environment to develop a location sustainably. We need an ecosystem of large, medium, and small companies, a genuine digital game development culture. Regular informal exchange, shared use of infrastructure, and collaboration between industry, education, science, associations, youth protection, and service providers will make the House of Games Berlin a vibrant place. For Berlin and Germany, this is a game changer and an important step toward joining the major international centers of game development in the future.
